The Canadian Music Industry has come together this holiday season to stand in unity against impaired driving. Country artist, Grant Joseph, has teamed up with MADD Canada (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA), Yangaroo Music, Front Porch Music and multiple other organizations across Canada to bring you the Home Safe Holiday Giveaway. This campaign is aimed at educating and raising awareness on the risks of impaired driving while rewarding drivers for making the right choices this holiday season.
Music has a way of sharing stories and truly resonating with everyone, which is why this initiative is accompanied by a new unconventional holiday song. The new release, ‘This Ain’t Christmas' by Grant Joseph, was written and recorded specifically to bring light to the risks of impaired driving and how to avoid such tragedies. Proceeds from the song and donations to the campaign go to MADD Canada (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) to assist in their ongoing efforts to curb impaired driving. - Plan ahead! Be sure to know your options for a safe ride home before heading out!
- Make arrangements for a sober designated driver with friends or family.
- Know your public transportation routes and schedules.
- Pre-save local taxi and designated driving services in your phone for easy access.
- Schedule your departure ahead of time through rideshare apps such as Uber.
- See if your town is a part of Operation Red Nose. This is a free designated driving service run solely off of volunteers and donations. Click here to see if Operation Red Nose is available in your area!
- Stay local in walking distance of your final destination.
- Stay sober! Your friends and family will appreciate the designated driver.
